Bus Registration for 2020/21 School Year

[astra_breadcrumb]

Please find information about the Bus Registration for 2020-2021 school year.  *Note this information will be sent to families by email from SD46.

What do I need to do?

If your information will remain the same for the upcoming school year and your child was already registered for bussing for the 2019-2020 school year, you won’t need to do anything. Your child is automatically registered for bussing.

If you anticipate that this information will change, we ask that you re-register by July 15th at http://www.sd46.bc.ca/bussing, being sure to include all updated information. You will need your child’s student ID number (######) in order to complete the registration.

If your child will not require bussing for the 2020/21 school year, simply reply to the email and let us know. This will allow us to make the seat available for another student.

Bus ridership eligibility

Students that attend a school inside their catchment area and live outside the walk limit are considered eligible riders and will receive first priority when we develop our bus lists over the summer. The walk limit for elementary schools is 2 km and the walk limit for secondary schools is 3.2 km.

SD46 students that attend a school outside of their catchment area or reside inside of the walk limit are considered courtesy riders. These students will only be granted transportation service where space and existing routes permit.

The school district will provide confirmation of ridership status by August 30th, 2020.

For more information on our transportation services, see Regulation 4160 – Transportation of Students.
